About the Journal

Insights of Electrical Engineering and Technology (IEET, ISSN: 3135-2197) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published online by Academic Horizon Publisher (AHP). The journal provides a platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to publish rigorous work that connects electrical engineering foundations with system-level integration, cross-domain applications, and emerging technologies.

IEET is a broad-scope electrical engineering journal. Its flagship areas are power and energy systems, power electronics and electrical machines, circuits and computing systems, and intelligent electronic systems. The journal also welcomes submissions in communications, control and robotics, sensing and instrumentation, electromagnetics, electronic devices and photonics, biomedical electronics, and emerging interdisciplinary technologies. IEET publishes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, with continuous article publication and two archival issues per year.

Core and Intersecting Domains

The scope of IEET encompasses, but is not limited to, the following domains. The four flagship areas are presented first in greater detail (Part A); the remaining domains are organized as supporting and intersecting areas (Part B), ordered by their proximity to the flagship areas and their position in the electrical engineering chain from fundamentals to applications.

Part A: Flagship Areas

1. Power and Energy Systems
Power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, and stability; power system control and automation; smart grids and microgrids; renewable integration; energy storage; HVDC/FACTS; power quality; electricity markets and demand response; integrated energy systems; AI for power and energy systems; power system economics, safety, and reliability. IEET particularly welcomes work that bridges power systems with information and communication technologies, market mechanisms, or cross-domain energy integration.

2. Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, and Drives
Power converters and devices; electrical machines, drives, and design; wide-bandgap and ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductors; electric vehicles and grid interaction (V2G/G2V); transportation electrification (rail, marine, aviation); power device reliability, thermal management, and packaging; wireless power transfer. IEET particularly welcomes work that connects power electronics with system-level integration, reliability, or emerging application domains.

3. Circuits, Electronics, and Integrated Systems
Analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal circuit design; ICs, systems-on-chip (SoC), and chiplets; heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging, and 3D integration; electronic design automation (EDA); low-power and energy-autonomous systems; analog and mixed-signal computing circuits; cryogenic and radiation-hardened electronics; testing, reliability, and hardware security. IEET particularly welcomes work that bridges circuit-level design with system-level functionality, or that addresses integration challenges across heterogeneous technologies.

4. Computing Systems and Intelligent Hardware
Computer architecture; digital circuits and VLSI design; edge, fog, and distributed computing; embedded systems; hardware/software co-design; reconfigurable computing (e.g., FPGA); high-performance computing; AI chips and accelerators; in-memory and approximate computing; neuromorphic and spiking neural network hardware; quantum hardware architectures and cryogenic computing; hardware security, side-channel resilience, reliability, and testability. IEET particularly welcomes work that connects computing hardware with emerging computational paradigms, intelligent systems, or domain-specific acceleration.

Part B: Supporting and Intersecting Domains

Part B is ordered along the electrical engineering chain, from physical foundations through devices, systems, networks, and applications, with cross-cutting themes presented last.

5. High-Voltage Engineering, Insulation, and Applied Electromagnetics
(Physical foundations underpinning power apparatus and electromagnetic systems.)
High-voltage engineering; insulation systems and dielectrics; electrical materials for power apparatus; cable and transformer insulation; environmental-friendly insulating media; electromagnetic compatibility and protection; electromagnetic theory, antennas, and propagation; RF/microwave/millimeter-wave/terahertz circuits and systems; metasurfaces and metamaterials; bioelectromagnetics; computational and quantum electromagnetics; electromagnetic transient and lightning protection.

6. Electronic Devices, Photonics, and Microsystems
(Device and material foundations for circuits, photonics, and microsystems.)
Semiconductor devices; MEMS and microfabrication; nanoelectronics; 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures; spintronics; quantum devices; optoelectronic, photonic, and perovskite devices; silicon photonics and optical interconnects; device modeling; flexible, stretchable, and bio-integrated electronics; low-temperature and superconducting electronics; novel materials for electronic and photonic applications with device or system demonstration. Note: device-level work is welcome when it includes a clear electrical engineering contribution or system-level demonstration; purely materials-oriented studies without such contribution are outside the journal's scope.

7. Control, Automation, and Robotics
(System-level control and automation across energy, manufacturing, and transportation.)
Control theory and applications; industrial automation; robotic design and control; autonomous and multi-robot systems; human–robot interaction; brain–computer interfaces; reinforcement learning control; cyber-physical systems; networked control; digital twins and predictive maintenance; unmanned systems; and their implementations in smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation, and energy systems.

8. Communications, Networking, and Signal Processing
(Communication and information infrastructure connecting electrical systems.)
Wireless communications (5G/6G, IoT); optical communications and networks; satellite and space–air–ground integrated networks; quantum communications; networking and SDN/NFV; cybersecurity, privacy, and trust; information theory for communication and sensing; signal, image, video processing and remote sensing; radar, navigation, and sensor systems; edge intelligence and semantic communications.

9. Sensing, Instrumentation, and Measurement
(Sensing and measurement interfaces between electrical systems and the physical world.)
Sensor design and fabrication; measurement instrumentation and calibration; acoustic, ultrasonic, and nondestructive evaluation; sensor systems for industrial, environmental, and biomedical applications; wearable, implantable, and bio-integrated electronics; biomedical circuits and systems; neural interfaces and neuroengineering; biomedical signal processing and imaging hardware; healthcare monitoring and point-of-care systems. Note: biomedical work is welcome when the contribution is primarily at the circuit, device, or system level; studies in which electronics serve only as a data-collection tool are outside the journal's scope.

10. Cross-Cutting and Emerging Themes
(Horizontal themes that span the flagship and supporting domains above.)
IEET particularly welcomes submissions at the intersection of electrical engineering and AI, machine learning, and data science; sustainable and green technologies; next-generation computing; secure and trustworthy systems; space, extreme-environment, and quantum engineering; energy–information systems; hydrogen and power-to-gas; and other emerging areas where the electrical engineering contribution is central. These themes are not a separate domain but a cross-cutting dimension of the journal's scope; submissions in this category should clearly identify the flagship or supporting domain(s) they connect.
